Holiday Marketing to Moms: Moms Become Scan Savvy

Smartphones continue to change the way Moms shop during this holiday season.  It seems that Moms are becoming even more ShopSavvy with the popular ShopSavvy app that has been downloaded 2.15 million times in the month of November.

Some 1.4 million downloads were on iPhones and 750,000 were on Android phones.  Of the 1.4 million downloads by iPhone users in November, 400,000 were first-time downloads and 1 million were current ShopSavvy users updating to the latest version of the app.

Not only did we put ShopSavvy in our list of top holiday shopping apps, but so did many news outlets as the comparison-shopping tool has grown in popularity.  ShopSavvy uses bar code scanning capability to do immediate, in-store price comparisons with local and online retailers.

ShopSavvy has emerged as a hugely popular shopping app for Android, the iPhone, and Nokia smartphones, with more than 6.5 million users worldwide. ShopSavvy’s price comparison engine includes up-to-date pricing and inventory information from more than 20,000 retailers worldwide, covering more than 20 million products.

    Very Helpful Article. Thanks! I heard about a new site at Church. It compares prices at the 4 top stores here in Atlanta. From what I’ve read, it updates every week and shows where the lowest prices are on a few hundred items. You can print out your shopping list or have it sent to your phone. (I’m not savvy enough for that though). I email them since their not up yet, and they told me they will be up in January in Atlanta and Birmingham AL. then other cities.
